PORTLAND, Ore. – Break-through seasons from Simon Fraser University point guard Ellen Kett and guard/forward Elisa Homer have earned the pair selection to the 2015-16 GNAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams.

Junior guard Ellen Kett was a First Team selection while Homer, a redshirt sophomore, was named to the Second Team. It is a first-time honour for both players, who emerged this season as key contributors for the Clan.

The pair will lead Simon Fraser into the GNAC Basketball Championships, which begin Thursday at Saint Martin's University's Marcus Pavilion in Lacey, Wash., when the No. 4 seeded Clan faces No. 5 Central Washington at 7:30 PM.

Kett recorded a triple-double in the Clan's final regular season road game against Alaska Anchorage, finishing with 14 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds when the Clan scored an epic 67-66 upset of #1 University of Alaska Anchorage, ending the Seawolves 19 game winning streak.

The Melbourne, Australia native is averaging 11.6 points and 7.3 assist per game, way up over her numbers of last year when she averaged 5.2 ppg and 5.4 apg. Kett is second in all of Division II in three-point shooting percentage this season at 49.5 percent and is ranked third in assists per game (7.3) and fourth in total assists (182). Kett was second in the GNAC with a 2.4 assist/turnover ratio.

SFU is one of the best three-point shooting teams in NCAA, shooting 37.9% (13th in NCAA D2) from beyond the arc and averaging 9.4 (7th) makes per game.  Elisa Homer, who is third in the conference in scoring averaging 16.7 ppg, leads the GNAC and is third in NCAA with 3.76 threes per game. She is also sixth in three-pointers attempted (245) and sixth in total three-pointers made (87).

Homer carries a 3.61 grade point average in business and was earlier named to the 2015-16 GNAC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team.

Simon Fraser heads to the conference championship as the fourth seed, finishing at 13-7, 15-10 overall. The Clan enters the tournament with the longest active winning streak at three games after ending Alaska Anchorage's 19-game winning streak. Along with Western Washington, they were one of just two teams to beat the Seawolves this year.

Central Washington earned the No. 5 seed on the final night of the season thanks to its win at home over Montana State Billings. The Wildcats tied with Northwest Nazarene at 10-10 in GNAC play and tied their season series, but the Wildcats earned the higher seed based on their record against teams finishing with a .750 in-conference record (Central Washington 2-4, Northwest Nazarene 0-6).

Simon Fraser and Central Washington split a pair of games this season with the Wildcats winning 64-50 in Burnaby on January 7 and the Clan winning 56-48 on February 6th in Ellensburg, Wash.
