SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Four Simon Fraser University track and field athletes eclipsed the NCAA Division II national qualifying standards for the national outdoor championships as the Clan participated in two outdoor meets in San Francisco on Friday.
Juniors
Marc-Antoine Rouleau (1500),
Ella Brown (Triple Jump),
Rebecca Bassett (5,000) and
Sophie Dodd (800) all achieved the NCAA D2 national provisional qualifying standards for the outdoor track and field championships at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
- Rouleau was third overall in the men's 1,500 metres in 3:49.65, easily surpassing the provisional mark (3:51.68).
- Brown won the women's triple jump with a leap of 11.88 metres.
- Bassett placed fourth in the 5,000 metres in 16:43
- Dodd won her heat and finished fourth overall in the 800 metres in 2:12.45
Alex Wu won the men's long jump with a leap of 7:03 metres but did not make the qualifying standard.
At the Stanford Invitational, senior middle distance runner
Cameron Proceviat finished ninth in the 1500 in 3:51.98.
