Theresa Hanson announced today that
Steve Hanson has been named interim head coach of the Clan men's basketball program.
"I have appointed
Steve Hanson interim head coach so that the men's basketball program can continue with its recruiting, camps and operations," said
Theresa Hanson. "We want to maintain a level of continuity within our program while we look for our next head coach."
Steve Hanson, who is not related to Theresa, was the lead assistant on the Clan men's basketball team this season. Virgil Hill resigned as men's basketball head coach last week.
The search for a new head coach of the SFU men's basketball program is underway.
Simon Fraser is Canada's NCAA team. It is the only school in Canada that offers student-athletes access to the NCAA athletic experience and a Canadian education.
