Biography

Brooke Dexter – Anchorage, AK / West Anchorage HS
Position: Right Side Hitter
Height: 6'2"
Club Team: Midnight Sun Volleyball Club
Schmidt: "We are excited to have Brooke join us from Anchorage as she will be our first recruit from Alaska. We believe she is a great fit for our program both athletically and academically. Brooke brings a strong physical presence to the net and, as a left hander, we will look for her to be a mainstay on the right-side for our offense."

Dexter was awarded a National Merit Scholar and received an IB Diploma at West Anchorage (2015-18). She is a two-time Cook Inlet All-Conference First Team All-Star (2017, 2018) and was also the Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee in both her junior and senior high school years.

Dexter has experience volunteering at the Alaska Center for the Environment, the Alaska SPCA and multiple youth sporting clubs. She plans to major in Biochemistry at SFU in order to pursue a career in medical research.

Why SFU? "I loved my time on campus and in Vancouver and that's why I decided to come to SFU. I thought it was a beautiful place where I could enjoy being. I appreciate SFU's diversity in its student body and in academics. Also, I love the GNAC and wanted to be a part of it."
