Ezawa Malish was an honours student and star middle blocker who won a bronze medal at the 2018 BC Provincial High School Championship and a gold medal at the 2018 BC Catholics Provincial Championship. Considered one of the most athletic middle blockers in BC, Malish also has experience playing the right-side position. In 2019, she received a U-16 All-Star award during her club season with the Ducks Volleyball Club. This past summer, Malish was a member of the Team BC Select Program that is a lead up to the 2021 Canada Games team. Ezawa grew up playing multiple sports including basketball, tennis, soccer and track & field. She is interested pursuing a Business degree at SFU.
 
Schmidt: "Ezawa has been a consistent standout on her high school and club teams. Her speed and jumping ability make her constant presence at the net both offensively and defensively. We have been watching Ezawa's development for several years and we couldn't be happier that she has chosen to make SFU her home for her collegiate career."
 
Why SFU? "I wanted to be at a school where academics and athletics are valued at an equal level. Being able to receive top Canadian education while also competing in the NCAA is an opportunity I am extremely excited about!"
