Ferguson was the first signing in this recruiting class and she brings a resume full of accomplishments. Although she competed on her high school golf team and won the City Championship in 2021, it is her experience on a national level that will help lead the women's team on the golf course in competition next season. Some of Ferguson's achievements in 2021 include a third-place finish at the Quebec U19 Provincial Championship, top five at the Ontario U19 Provincial Championship, seventh at the 2021 Quebec Women's Amateur and T35 at the Canadian National Women's Amateur
 
This year Ferguson was invited to participate in the Team Canada Junior Development program. Ferguson's interests extend beyond school and golf, too. She loves music, and enjoys playing the electric and acoustic guitar, playing piano, and singing. She plans to study Biomedical Physiology.
 
"Izzy is a highly accomplished golfer who is also an outstanding student and person," said SFU head coach Matthew Steinbach. "I'm extremely excited to have a student-athlete of her caliber joining our program.  She is disciplined, thoughtful, and has an incredible ability to learn and apply new information.  Izzy is one of those special players who will leave a legacy of excellence in everything she pursues in her time at SFU."
