A star running back for SFU from 1984-87, Orville rushed for a school record 3,446 career yards and held 14 other SFU records when his four-year career had ended.

In one afternoon on Oct. 18, 1986 before a home crowd at Swangard Stadium, Orville Lee fashioned his place in SFU history in a 60-20 win over Whitworth College. Lee set seven SFU records. Lee scored five touchdowns, rushed for 296 yards, including one run for 91 yards, caught three passes for 80 yards, and returned a kick-off 49 yards. When the game is over Lee total 422 yards of offence and was the first SFU player chosen NAIA National Player of the Week and he later appeared in Faces in the Crowd section of Sports Illustrated.

Lee was drafted first overall by the Ottawa Rough Riders in the Canadian Football League Draft, and in 1988, was the league’s Most Outstanding Rookie after rushing for 1,075 yards to lead the CFL.
