Pete Harrower (pictured right foreground) is one of the most decorated swimmers in NAIA history. During his career, Peter won 11 NAIA individual national titles, including four-year repeat victories in the 500-yard freestyle and 1,650-yard freestyle from 1969-1972.
In three straight national championship meets, Peter won three individual titles in the 500-yard freestyle, 1,650-yard freestyle, and 400-yard individual medley. In his senior season, Peter’s leadership guided SFU to its first-ever NAIA team championship in any sport.
Peter competed for Canada at the 1970 Commonwealth Games. He is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame.
