Ted Warkentin was a member of the SFU’s charter football and basketball teams in 1965 and he went on to become Simon Fraser University’s first Rhodes Scholar candidate. A defensive end with the football team, Ted played for coach Lorne Davies and helped SFU to a 17-12 overall record during its first four seasons.

Ted was drafted in the first round, seventh overall, by the BC Lions in the 1969 CFL Draft.
