Terry Bailey was a star running back for SFU in the 1970s. The Surrey, BC, native burst onto the scene as a freshman in 1970, setting the single game rushing record with 227 yards rushing against Whitworth College. The team went undefeated that season. 
 
Four years later, in his senior year, Terry rushed for a school record 866 yards and was named NAIA All-American Second Team.  

Terry rushed 
for 3,151 yards, caught passes for 478 yards and scored 43 touchdowns during his time on Burnaby Mountain. He held 10 school records upon graduation. 

 
In 1974, Terry was a Territorial Protection of the BC Lions. He went on to a nine-year career in the CFL. He returned to SFU and was the program’s offensive coordinator for more than 20 years.
