FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The No. 4 ranked Simon Fraser University women's wrestling team won five weight classes and saw some of its red-shirt wrestlers competing unattached turn in dominant performances among 15 teams at the Mike Clock Open on Sunday.
 
Maddie Mackenzie (101), Alexia Seal (109), Karla Godinez-Gonzalez (123), Alyvia Fiske (155) and Emily Cue (170) all won their weight classes while redshirt Katja Osteen (191), wrestling unattached, also won her weight class.
 
Karla Godinez-Gonzalez, who opened the season as the top-ranked wrestler at 116-pounds in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) pre-season rankings, has started the season undefeated. She dominated the SFU open, and wrestling at 123 at the Mike Clock, won her first three matches by 10-0 technical fall victories. She was pressed in the final but came away with a 6-1 decision over Caro Moreno of Southern Oregon University.

Freshman Maddie MacKenzie of Calgary came out aggressively and maned a fall 37 seconds into her first match and then followed that with a 10-0 technical fall victory. She won a tough 2-2 decision against Isabella Morales of Empire Wrestling Club in the final at 101.
 
Alexia Seal, nationally ranked at No. 7 at 109-pounds, won three matches by technical fall while top-ranked Alyvia Fiske won a 6-0 decision over Sienna Ramirez (Southern Oregon University) in the 155 final after winning by a pin and a tech fall in earlier matches.
 
Emily Cue made quick work of her first three opponents and rolled to a 11-0 win over Olivia Robinson (Eastern Oregon University) in the 170-ppund final. Cue is ranked No. 2 nationally in the weight class.
 
Wrestling unattached, red-shirt Katja Osteen took the 191-pound weight by pinning Makan-Sira Keita (Umpqua Community College) in 32 seconds in the final after dominating earlier opponents.
