The San Francisco State volleyball team went the distance with Simon Fraser to win in five sets. After the Gators won the first set 25-19, SFU captured the next two 25-23 and 25-15. SF State responded and won the next two sets 25-12 and 15-9.

Simon Fraser lost in straight sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-10) to Point Loma Sea Lions Saturday evening inside Golden Gym.

Against SF State, Simon Fraser's attack was at its best during set three when they hit at .394 percent. Tied at 8-8, SFU used seven kills to take a 19-11 lead they would hold the rest of the way.

Down 2-1, the Gators responded in set four to tie. Down 5-4, SF State used a 10-1 run to take control and force a fifth set.

SF State started the fifth set with a 4-0 run, forcing SFU to take a timeout. Simon Fraser landed a kill coming out of the time out, but the Gators maintained a cushion the rest of the way to close out the set and take the match.
