Burnaby -- Head coach Clint Schneider announced two new signings as part of the 2021 recruiting class for the men's soccer team.
"We feel very good about adding these two players to our group and we are not done yet. I feel like we can add another one or two players of quality before the 2021 season. I believe we have a fantastic group of players already here, but we are always looking to improve and gear up and be ready for another run at the national championship. I like forward to coaching Simone and Eitan".

Simone Masi – Burnaby, BC / University Hill Secondary School
Position: Centre Back
Height: 6'2"
Club Team: Whitecaps FC Academy
Schneider: "Simone is a guy we have been targeting the last couple of years. He is a big athletic centre back. He loves to defend and he is great in the air. He has the right mentality and we think he will come in and be able to play right away. He will come in and make our centre back position better and more competitive so we are excited about that. He is a local boy from Burnaby and just fits the profile of what we are looking for. Simone is a perfect match for our club".
Simone Masi won't have to move very far as he signs with Simon Fraser by way of the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy. Masi, a native of Burnaby, will give Simon Fraser a boost on the defensive side of the pitch. Masi is a multi sport athlete that excelled in basketball, football and soccer in high school. His planned major is Criminology.
Why SFU? "I chose SFU because it's minutes from where I live and because of its great reputation with its academic programs. The main focus of my decision was based mainly on the soccer program and the level of soccer played. I'm looking forward to playing with team and instructed by a great coaching staff"

Eitan Waisfeld– Weston, Florida / Cypress Bay High School
Position: Goaltender
Height: 6'2"
Club Team: Weston FC.
Schneider: "Eitan is a goalkeeper than came on our radar a little bit late. Has plenty of tools to be a number one goalkeeper. We lucked out by finding this kid. He is a great student and a great person who will fit in with us culturally. I know he is really excited about being back in Canada playing for Canada's NCAA team"
Waisfeld makes his way to SFU by way of Weston Florida. Originally from Toronto, Waisfeld moved to the sunshine state at the age of 9. In high school, Waisfeld was a two time district champion, a one time regional championship and was a first team all country selection (Broward county). His planned major is political science.
Why SFU? "SFU's academics matched with a competitive soccer team with a winning culture"
