A prospective student-athlete is a student who has started classes for the ninth grade. An individual remains a prospective student-athlete until one of the following occurs (whichever is earlier): enrolls in a minimum full time program in a four-year institution, participates in a practice or competition at the four-year institution or attends a summer term at a four-year institution.

As a college-bound student-athlete, you are responsible for achieving and protecting your eligibility – that means planning ahead, taking high school classes seriously and protecting your amateur status. It can be a difficult first step, but the ultimate benefits of being an NCAA student-athlete are well worth the effort.

If recruited to Simon Fraser University, there are a number of activities you will need to take care of before attending SFU.
