Abdou: “Dylan is a local guy that has wrestled under hall of fame coach Gianni Buono. We are looking at Dylan as a possible red shirt this upcoming season and are attracted to his work ethic and grit.”

A three-time BC Provincial medalist, Duggan moved from Edinburgh, Scotland to Burnaby in 2015 and started wrestling in Grade 9. After finishing in fifth-place at the BC High School Wrestling Championships in 2017 and 2018, he broke through to earn a silver medal this past February in the 54-kilogram class.

His success on the mat earned him the Burnaby Central Athlete of the Year award for both his junior and senior seasons, while he was also a three-time MVP of the Wildcats wrestling team. Duggan intends to major in psychology with a planned career in law enforcement.

Why SFU? “SFU was the best option for my athletic career. Many of my friends are also attending SFU and competing in many sports.”
