Colorado Springs, CO – Simon Fraser University wrestler Victoria Anthony (Huntington Beach, CA) won Team USA's world team wrestle-off challenge to earn a spot on the squad that will compete at the world championships in Budapest, Hungary from September 16-22.

Anthony wrestled up a weight class to qualify for the team at 51-kilograms after finishing second at the qualifier in June at her traditional weight class of 48-kilograms.

The Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association champion entered the tournament seeded fifth but knocked off the number four, number one and number two seeded wrestlers to earn a spot in the final.

In the championship, Anthony defeated US Open champion Jessica Medina 5-3 and 6-1 to earn her place on the world championship team.

Anthony was also named TheMat.com's wrestler of the week for her performance.

She joins Clan teammate Helen Maroulis (Rockville, MD) on Team USA for the world championship.
