Portland, OR - Simon Fraser University men's soccer forward
Glenn Paden (Seattle, WA) has been named the Red Lion Offensive Player of the Week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Paden, who transferred to the Clan from the Oregon State Beavers, earned the award after recording a hat trick in his first home game for the Clan.
His hat trick helped the Clan to a 9-0 win over the visiting Trinity Lutheran Eagles on Saturday.
Paden scored all three of his goals in the span of 18 minutes, first with a goal in the 71st minute on a penalty kick before scoring again in the 82nd and 88th minutes.
The three goals were Paden's first with the Clan and moved him into a tie for the second most goals scored on the team.
SFU's victory over Trinity Lutheran wrapped up non-conference play for the Clan, as SFU finished with a perfect 4-0 record after sweeping their trip to California and defeating the Hawaii Pacific Sea Warriors on Terry Fox Field last Thursday evening.
The Clan will now move into the Great Northwest Athletic Conference portion of their schedule, beginning on Thursday when they travel to Billings, MT to face the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets.
