Juan Sanchez (Armenia, Columbia) has been named the Red Lion Player of the Week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Sanchez scored in the 86th minute against the University of Mary on
Thursday to tie the game and help the Clan earn a point on the road in a 2-2 overtime draw.
On
Saturday, Sanchez scored and provided an assist in SFU's lopsided 7-0 triumph over South Dakota Mines.
His efforts helped SFU to four points and more importantly kept his team in sole possession of first place in the GNAC standings.
In eight games with the Clan this season, Sanchez has three goals and an assist.
Sanchez and the Clan will be back in action on Terry Fox Field this week, hosting the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders on
Thursday and the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets on
Saturday.
