Simon Fraser University is 50, and to celebrate, we're counting down 50 Incredible Moments in Clan History. This week we honour the Clan's first NCAA champions.

On March 8, 2013, swimmer Mariya Chekanovych won SFU's first-ever NCAA national championship, posting a record time of 1:01.50 in the 100-yard breaststroke. The following day, runner Helen Crofts became an NCAA champion, too, winning the women's indoor 800-metres, while Chekanovych earned another title with a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke.
