HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. – The Simon Fraser University Clan went 2-0 in the Northwest Cup on Saturday in Happy Valley, taking a 9-1 victory over College of Idaho and a 10-2 win over Eastern Oregon.
The Clan pounded College of Idaho for 11 hits and sophomore walk-on
Alia Stachoski tossed a three hitter as the Clan won its third straight game for the first time this season.
Simon Fraser is now two game above .500 with an 8-6 overall record. The team's GNAC schedule begins at the end of the month, with home-and-home doubleheaders against Western Washington on February 27 and 28.
Stachoski struck out four and walked one in five inning of work to improve to 4-3 on the season.

Rachel Proctor hit her first homerun of the season for the Clan's other score. The Clan received two hit and two RBI performances from Proctor and first base
Alex Baylak.
In the 10-2 win over Eastern Oregon,
Tori Belton picked up her third win of the season over Eastern Oregon with five and 2/3rds innings of work in relief of starter
Jessica Goulet. Belton gave up just two hits and recorded six strikeouts to improve to 3-2.
Sophomore shortstop
Taylor Lundrigan, who leads the Clan with four homeruns this season, went 2-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and three runs. She had two RBI and leads the Clan with 14 RBI this season. Lundrigan has five doubles.
The Clan also received two-hit performances from seniors Proctor and Blaylak, who each drove in one run.
After Goulet gave up the opening run in the first inning the Clan blew things open with a four-run third inning. Eastern Oregon got one back in the top of the fourth on a solo homerun to left field but SFU scored two more runs in their half of the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth for the win.
The tournament continues Sunday with two more games for the Clan.
