Two three-pointers in final 13 seconds sinks Red Leafs

NAMPA, ID – Point Loma Sea Lions hit two three-pointers in the final 13 seconds to steal a 68-65 win away from SFU, handing the Red Leafs their first loss of the season on Friday at the Northwest Nazarene Thanksgiving Classic.

Allie Carreon hit a wide-open three with three seconds left to win the game after teammate Haylee Saurette nailed a three with 13 seconds left that tied the score 65-65. SFU called a timeout after Point Loma tied the game but on the inbounds play Georgia Swant stepped out of bounds with the ball, turning it over with eight seconds left.

That gave the Sea Lions a chance to win it. Point Loma came out of its timeout and managed to get Carreon an open three to win the game after Saurette drove baseline and then passed the ball to Carreon for a corner three.
