An all-around weapon, Megan Smith starred for the both the Renegades and the Lambrick Park Secondary Softball Academy, where she began her career by claiming the school's Freshman Female Athlete of the Year back in 2014. Since then, all Smith has done is win gold at the 2014 U16 Canadian Open, and gold medals with the Renegades 99s at the provincial and national levels in 2015, followed up by the pair of corresponding silvers with White Rock in 2016.
Renney: "Megan, in a word, is versatile. It seems that each time I watched one of her games, I saw her playing different positions – short stop, second base, center field, or catcher - which is a testament to her versatility, as well her willingness to play where needed. While Megan has demonstrated she can play multiple positions, I have her earmarked to play the outfield where I expect she is the best fit.”
