Incredible Moment 39: Scoring Champion

Basketball - M | 9/26/2015 10:36:00 AM

Simon Fraser University is 50, and to celebrate, we're counting down 50 Incredible Moments in Clan History. This week we look at the year Mike Jackel lead the NAIA in scoring.

In 1981-82, Mike Jackel enjoyed a season for the ages, averaging 28.9 points per game to lead the NAIA in scoring at a time when there was no three-point line. Twice that season, Jackel scored 47 points in a game to set the Clan record. He was named NAIA All-American Second Team, the first Clan men's basketball player to earn this honour.
