50th Anniversary | 11/20/2015 2:39:00 PM

Simon Fraser University is 50, and to celebrate, we're counting down 50 Incredible Moments in Clan History. Incredible Clan Moment No. 7 celebrates Carol Huynh, an Olympic gold medalist and pioneer in women's wrestling.

Huynh came to SFU before a women's program existed, occasionally competing for the men's varsity team. Huynh won 126 collegiate matches which would have placed her fourth overall in SFU history – male or female. Huynh's crowning moment came at the 2008 Summer Olympics where she won Canada's first Olympic gold medal in women's wrestling.
