Simon Fraser University is 50, and to celebrate, we're counting down 50 Incredible Moments in Clan History. Incredible Moment No. 6 celebrates the very first Shrum Bowl football game played between SFU and UBC.

On Oct. 16, 1967, 14,972 fans flocked to Empire Stadium to see SFU and UBC play the first Shrum Bowl. SFU quarterback Wayne Holm rushed for three touchdowns and threw TD passes to Ted Warkentin and John Senst and the Clan won 32-13. The game was briefly halted in the first half for Vancouver police to restore order in the stands and a rivalry was born. The game has been played intermittently since with SFU holding a 17-15-1 advantage.
