Billings, MT – The Simon Fraser University men's soccer team wrapped up their road trip by playing to a 0-0 draw with the Montana State University-Billings Yellowjackets.

Neither team could find the back of the net, despite playing through two overtime periods for a total of 110 minutes of action.

Hide Ozawa (Victoria, BC) started in net for SFU, making two saves while Eoin Hurley made three saves for MSUB.

Each team had five shots on goal in the match.

“Montana are a very tough team to beat at their place they fought for everything,” said head coach Alan Koch.  “Their work rate was very impressive and it became an even match.  We are disappointed not to get the win but considering all the travel on this trip, we'll take the four points.”

It looked as though the Clan had scored the game winner in overtime off a scramble in front of the MSUB net, but the referee called a foul, taking the goal off the board and leaving the Clan to settle for a tie.

With the tie, the Clan move to 13-1-1 on the season and 9-1-1 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action.

The Clan will be back on the road next week when they travel to Lacey, WA to visit Saint Martin's on Thursday before a match up with Seattle Pacific on Saturday, October 27.

SFU's regular season schedule will then wrap up at home against their cross border rivals from Western Washington University on Saturday, November 4 at 3:00 p.m.
