Clan close out 2012 season

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Simon Fraser University women's soccer team wrapped up their 2012 season on Saturday afternoon with a 5-0 loss to the Central Washington Wildcats.

SFU goalkeeper Amanda Gilliland (Delta, B.C.) made eight saves in net while the Clan offence put five shots on goal.

Central opened the scoring in the fifth minute of play when Savanna Moorehouse found the back of the net to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.

They expanded their lead to 2-0 just before halftime when Hadli Farrand solved the Clan goalkeeper to send the teams to the locker rooms with SFU trailing by two.

The Clan could not stage a comeback in the second half, as the Wildcats added goals in the 50th, 55th and 74th minutes to take the 5-0 win.

With the loss, the Clan wrap up the 2012 season with a record of 1-16-0 and 0-14-0 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
