Box Score Nampa, ID - The Simon Fraser University volleyball lost in four sets to the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders on
Saturday night, falling three sets to one.
"It was a good match," said head coach Lisa Sulatycki. "There were a lot of good rallies and we gained valuable experience in this game. They play a unique style and our players did a good job adjusting to that. We gave ourselves chances to succeed, we just need to start taking advantage of some opportunities."
Katie Forsyth (Delta, BC) led the Clan and tied for the game lead in kills with 11.
Three members of the Clan reached double digits in digs as
Alanna Chan (Port Moody, BC) led the way with 24 while
Danielle Curtis (North Vancouver, BC) had 12 and
Jessica Young (Vancouver, BC) had 11.
Victoria Senges (Surrey, BC) contributed 13 assists for SFU.
The Clan started the match on the right foot, winning the first set 25-19, before dropping the next three sets, 25-12, 25-18 and 25-14 to lose the match three sets to one.
With the loss, the Clan fall to 2-8 on the season, 0-4 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action.
The Clan return home this week to host the Western Oregon Wolves on
Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the West Gym.
