Box Score Burnaby, BC - It was a battle from start to finish at Terry Fox Field as the Simon Fraser University women's soccer team fell to the Central Washington University Wildcats 3-2 on Thursday night.

The Wildcats opened the scoring with a goal from Lauren Duty and made it 1-0 in the 40th minute.

In the second half, Central Washington took ta 2-1 lead early on with a goal from Hadli Farrand in the 56th minute on a breakaway goal.

Once again the Clan answered, this time with Jessica Hadden (Cloverdale, BC) scoring in the 66th minute to tie the game. Sophie D'Souza (Vancouver, BC) got the assist.

Hadden's hard work was rewarded on the goal as she sped trough the defensive line and layed the ball in behind CWU's goalkeeper.

"We wanted to prove to ourselves that we can play and compete at their level," said Hadden. "We did a good job of pushing through and keeping a good energy the whole game."
