Box Score Seattle, WA - The Simon Fraser University women's soccer team started their final road trip of the 2013 regular season with a 5-0 loss to the seventh ranked team in NCAA Division II's West Region, the Seattle Pacific Falcons.
The Falcons used three first half goals to take the early lead in the match.
In the eighth minute, the home side took the lead, on a goal that would hold up as the game winner when when Maddie Krauss scored her fourth goal of the season on a shot from right to left from 13-yards out.
Josie Graybeal struck for the Falcons in the 17th minute, her first goal of the season to give SPU a 2-0 lead.
In the 24th minute, Heather Young scored her third of the season to make it 3-0, a score that would hold up until halftime.
In the second half, SPU added two goals to secure the win.
Simone Tessler (Eugene, OR) started in net for the Clan, playing the entire match, making six saves.
Karm Jawandha (Delta, BC),
Yva Rodriguez (Port Coquitlam, BC) and
Brianna Morrison (Pitt Meadows, BC) each had a shot on goal for the Clan in the game while
Kate Pearsall (North Vancouver, BC) had two.
With the loss, the Clan's record drops to 1-12-2 on the season and 1-10-2 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.
The Clan will wrap up their 2013 season on Saturday when they visit the second ranked team in the west region, the Western Washington Vikings. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
