Toronto, ON - Simon Fraser University football alumnus Luca Congi has been named the special teams player of the week in the Canadian Football League for week 6.

The Hamilton Tiger Cats kicker was a perfect three-for-three on field goals and added a trio of converts in the Tiger Cats 30-29 win over the Eskimos.

Congi, a seven year CFL veteran, kicked field goals from 38, 27 and 17 yards in the game.

The native of Waterloo, ON is currently fourth in the league in kicking points with 49 and has made 11 of his 15 field goal attempts.

The CFL's players of the week are chosen by a panel of judges including former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Congi was originally drafted into the CFL by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the second round, 12th overall, in 2006. He played five seasons at Simon Fraser, from 2001-05. During his senior season, he kicked 15 field goals and averaged 40.5 yards per punt.
