Box Score Billings, MT - The Simon Fraser University volleyball team concluded their first road trip of the 2013 season on Saturday night against the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets, dropping the match three sets to none.
"We're still working to find our identity as a team," said Head Coach
Gina Schmidt. "We passed well tonight but like Thursday, we were not able to convert on the offensive end. MSUB played well and it took us some time for our block and our defence to adjust."
Kelsey Robinson (Delta, BC) led the team with 10 kills.
Alanna Chan (Port Moody, BC) had eight digs in the match, followed closely by
Alison McKay (Port Moody, BC) with seven and
Helen Yan (Port Moody, BC) who had six.
Brooklyn Gould-Bradbury (Seattle, WA) once again led the team in assists with 14 followed by
Tamara Nipp (Vancouver, BC) who had 12.
MSUB won the first set 25-18 before taking the second set 25-15 and closing out the match with a 25-22 win in the third and final set.
The loss drops the Clan's record 0-2 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play and 5-3 on the season.
The Clan will be back in action next Thursday at home in the West Gym when they host the Central Washington Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.
