BURNABY, B.C. – The Simon Fraser football team concluded its season today with a 70-0 Great Northwest Athletic Conference loss at Central Washington in Ellensburg.

Running back Paul Thomas, competing in his last game for SFU, gained 21 yards on six rushes. Freshman receiver Sam Davenport caught a pair of passes for 27 yards.

Sophomores Justin Seiber and Brandon Niksich split the quarterbacking duties. Seiber was 6-of-16 passing for 41 yards. Niksich completed five of 15 throws for 39 yards.

Senior linebacker Justice Kremler recorded an interception and eight tackles (five solo). Kremler's pick came in the third quarter, as he caught a JJ Lemming pass at the SFU five-yard line and returned it back to the 10 with 4:24 remaining.

Linebacker Griffin Barrett made 11 tackles (five solo) in his final appearance for SFU. Junior defensive lineman Jeremiah Famor and senior defensive lineman Isaac Evans each had a sack.

SFU finishes the campaign with a record of 1-7 overall, and 0-4 in GNAC play in its return to the gridiron after not competing in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 season also saw the opening of the SFU Stadium at Terry Fox Field, the first permanent on-campus venue for the school's football, soccer, and track and field teams.
