BURNABY, B.C. – Senior receiver
Ethan Beselt caught both Simon Fraser touchdowns from junior quarterback
Justin Seiber in the Red Leafs' 42-14 Lone Star Conference football loss at Eastern New Mexico Saturday night in Portales.
Beselt's first touchdown was a two-yard catch in the early stages of the second quarter. It capped off an eight-minute, 17-play, and 75-yard drive that bridged the first and second periods. The touchdown was also the only SFU (0-5, 0-5 LSC) score in the opening 30 minutes, as the Red Leafs trailed 35-6 at the break.
ENMU (2-5, 1-4 LSC) took control early, notching a touchdown on its first drive, and then taking an SFU fumble in for another on the ensuing possession. The hosts got touchdowns on their first three drives.
The second Beselt major came with just 1:31 left in the third quarter, almost half of which (7:21) was consumed by the 16-play, 76-yard drive that resulted in the score. Beselt then caught the two-point conversion from Seiber. It was the only points posted by either squad in third quarter, as SFU cut its deficit to 35-14. The Greyhounds put the ball in the end zone with just under six minutes to go in the contest to seal the victory.
Beselt caught seven passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Senior receiver
Robert Meadors made a career-high eight catches for a team-best 75 yards. Seiber completed 23 of 40 passes for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Senior running back
Mason Glover gained 34 rushing yards for SFU.

It came on a third-down play and went for a 16-yard loss, forcing ENMU to punt. It was one of his team-leading two tackles for loss. In total, Keeskotagan had five solo tackles on Saturday.
The Greyhounds outgained the Red Leafs 366-196 and recorded seven sacks. SFU held a slight edge in time of possession, 31:29 to 28:31.
