FOOTBALL SATURDAY: Hickelstock performs, rally towel giveaway, Mr. Tube Steak, Baba's House Perogies & free parking

BURNABY  – SFU kick-offs the football season and its first in the Lone Star Conference at home this Saturday (Sept. 17) at SFU Stadium at Terry Fox Field when it hosts Central Washington at 1 p.m., presented by Traxx Coachlines.

The pregame tailgate featuring Mr. Tube Steak and Baba's House perogies, begins at noon with the cover band Hickelstock performing music of all genres. Hickelstock features four teenagers (and the drummer's dad!) with two first-year SFU students, Luka Feigelstock (drums) and Brooke Conley (vocalist, keyboards). The band will be back to perform at halftime.

Red Leafs rally towels to celebrate our new name will be tossed into the crowd during the game and the BC Lions and members of its dance team will be giving away Lions merch. SFU Cheer will also be performing throughout the game.

Tickets for the game are now on sale here! Five game season passes –just $ $76.50 – are offered here until Sept. 15 and include reserve seats, early access to Shrum Bowl Tickets and 10% off onsite merchandise. Fans enter SFU Stadium through the West Gym entrance.

SFU and FIC students receive free admission with valid SFU ID and can pick up a FREE rally towel by entering SFU Stadium at the RED TENT at the west patio entrance opposite Residence. 

Parking for all SFU varsity events is offered FREE with admission 90 minutes prior to the start of the event and 60 minutes after in the West Parkade, adjacent to the West Gym. 

Fans are not allowed to enter the stadium with bags, pets (unless a service dog) or outside food.

All football games will be pay-per-view on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with two purchasing options for live broadcasts and an archived download option.

Central Washington enters Saturday's game with a 1-1 record after beating Western New Mexico 24-13 last Saturday after trailing at halftime.

SFU features junior quarterback is Justin Seiber. A year ago he threw for 1,219 yards and 8 touchdowns in 7 games, posting a 101.30 quarterback rating. The SFU defense features third-year cornerback Jerrell Cummings, a GNAC All-Conference selection last season.
