On a foggy Saturday afternoon, SFU took down #12 Western Oregon with a convincing 4-1 win at Terry Fox Field.
In a back-and-forth start to the game,
Sarah Caravatta opened the scoring by breaking through the defence off a pass from
Kaiden Sherwood and putting it past Freshman goalkeeper Xeyana Salanoa. Western Oregon would respond ten minutes later with a long strike from Cici Garcia to tie the game up 1-1.
Early in the second half, SFU leading scorer
Kiera Scott notched her 7th goal of the season, set up by Sherwood and
Abbey Simpson. Following a Western Oregon own goal off a corner kick, Caravatta would add her second goal of the game to make the final score 4-1 for SFU.
