Jade Trolland – Abbotsford, BC / W.J. Mouat Secondary
Height: 5’4”
Club Team: Titan Mercury Wrestling Club
Abdou: “Jade won this year’s BC title in perhaps the toughest girls weight class. She is the most ready to challenge for a spot in the starting line up. She is dangerous from all positions and exciting to watch.”
A back-to-back gold medalist at the BC High School Championships, Trolland had a strong 2019 season which also included a bronze at the Juvenile Nationals in the 60-kilogram category. In 2017, she won a gold at the Canada Summer games.
Trolland comes from a large wrestling family, which includes her older sister Ashley Topnik, a former SFU student-athlete who won a gold medal at the 2012 Canadian National Championships.
Why SFU? “It's a good school, has a great wrestling program, and is not too far from home.”
