Biography
Megan Zelasky
Height: 5’5”
Abdou: “Megan is a gifted student who started wrestling late. She has shown rapid improvement and we are excited to see her continue to develop here.”
A well-rounded athlete and student, Zelasky placed third in the first official North Carolina Women’s State Wrestling Meet this past February in the 106-pound category. Having entered the program as a freshman when the North Carolina High School Athletic Association did not have separate girls’ and boys’ divisions, she went 6-9 in her junior year, competing mostly against boys.
After an invitation to the women’s folkstyle national championship in Oklahoma City, Zelasky went 15-9 in her senior year. She plans to major in resource and environment management.
Why SFU? “SFU offered everything I was looking for in a university in terms of student population size, location, setting, and academics specific to my potential future field post-graduation, as well as having an amazing women's wrestling program.”
