About: Aidan grew up in Parksville B.C attending Kwalikum Secondary School for all four years of high school. Growing up Goodfellow always knew golf would be the sport he would pursue, however he played hockey at a competitive level up until the age of 16. Although, entering his last two years of high school he knew it was time to narrow his focus to the sport he loved most.
Goodfellow had maintained outstanding academic standards through high school that earned him a spot in the honour roll. His main purpose for attending SFU was the competitive golf schedule in the NCAA, as well as an academic institution that is widely recognized as elite.
Following graduation Goodfellow has set his sights on the professional golf scene. “Graduating is the number one priority with my time here, after that, golf will be my main focus” says Goodfellow.
Achievements: As a Freshman at SFU Goodfellow managed to receive the GNAC all conference selection including two top 5 finishes in the spring semester. Entering his Sophomore year Goodfellow picked up right where he left off, carding a 70.11 scoring average which included two top 5 finishes in just the 3 events played in the fall semester. Despite the season being cut short due to COVID 19, this performance earned Goodfellow 1st team GNAC selection as well as being just the third player in SFU golf history to be selected into the All-West Region team.
Individually, Goodfellow had created an impressive resume which ultimately earned him a spot on SFU’s golf team. This resume included many big finishes in his junior golf career such as a 2nd place finish at the Eddie Hogan Cup in 2018 as well as a win at the Maple Leaf Junior Tour Order of Merit Championship. After starting at SFU Goodfellow has recorded multiple impressive finishes from an individual standpoint including an 11th place finish at the 2020 BC amateur championship shooting scores of 75-70-70.
Community: Goodfellow has participated in many events run by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and has plans to increase his community involvement in his remaining years at SFU.
