Kyle Mayner was the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour Player of the Year in 2021.The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is Canada's number one-played junior golf tour as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals. Mayner was presented with the national player of the year award based on his scoring averages in MJT tournaments. His 2020 tournament scoring average was 71.2. Mayner has six career MJT tournament victories to his credit. In 2020, he won the VGT Kings Links Open on the Vancouver Golf Tour, finished tied for fourth in the BC Junior Championship and finished tied for 21st in the BC Amateur Championship. Mayner also represented Team Canada at an international tournament in Australia in 2019.
Mayner joined SFU from Kelowna Secondary where he won the KSS Work Ethic Recognition award and was on the KSS Principal's Honour Role in grade 10 and 11. He plans to study Finance in the Beedie School of Business at SFU.
