Biography
Kate Cameron joins SFU from Nanaimo District Secondary School and its powerful athletics program. Cameron had a third-place finish in the 800m at BC high school championships in 2019-20 and earned a 13th place finish in the 2019 BC High School Cross Country Championships. She was named the NDSS 2019 Cross Country Athlete of the year for her efforts. Cameron has been clocked in the 800m in 2:18:80, ran a 4:53:17 in the 1,500m and completed a 5k cross country race in 19:21. Cameron was an elite figure skater for 14 years before committing to track and cross country completely. She may study Kinesiology with an eye to becoming a physiotherapist.
