Tom Dickson has been involved as a coach with the Simon Fraser University track and field team since 1983. A sprinter on the track team from 1972-76, Dickson has coached the sprints, hurdles and relays for SFU for over 25 years, and during that time has coached seven indoor and outdoor NAIA National Champions.
Dickson has also coached at the high school level, helping 23 different BC High School athletes win provincial championships, including Natalie Jackson, the only five-time winner of an event (400m hurdles from 1996-2000) and has coached medalists at the BC Juvenile and Senior Championships.
A certified Level III coach in both sprints and hurdles, Dickson has served on the provincial team coaching staff for the National Legion Camp, the Canadian Junior and Senior Championships, and the Western Canada and Canadian Summer Games.
As an athlete, Dickson has won the bronze medal at the World Master Championships in the 100m (2005) and 200m (2009), and has been named the BC Masters Athlete of the Year five times.
