Hamel: "Jenieva is a versatile player who she has high soccer IQ. She is a player you can rely on to be the solution anywhere on the pitch. She is calm on the ball and consistent in her performances and will no doubt have a positive impact on our squad."

Jenieva Musico of Surrey has been an honour roll student at Fleetwood Park Secondary since grade 8. The 5-7 defender was a key member of her school's soccer team that reached its fifth-straight BC AAA championship game last June. Musico is a multi-sport athlete and she was named athlete of the year in grades 9 and 10. She competes for Surrey United at the club level and was on the team that won the Canada Soccer U15 Cup in 2017. Musico intends on studying in the Beedie School of Business.

Why SFU? "I chose SFU because I love the environment created by the team and the program. I am excited that I can remain in Canada while still getting to compete in the NCAA."
