Hamel on Smith: Kate is a true ball playing center back who can play in between and in behind lines. Her distribution really sets her apart, and her ability to skip lines accurately will enable us to be less predictable in our build up phase. She has the profile required to dominate at the center back position, is phenomenal in the air, and is a very good 1v1 defender.
Notable: Younger sister of current SFU defender Emily Smith
