Hamel: "Kiara is a crafty player with a lot of pace. She is very confident on the ball and dynamic 1v1. She has great instincts driving forward at players and making things happen on the field."

Kiara Buono hails from Coquitlam and is attending Centennial Secondary. The midfielder was the leading scorer of the Centaurs team that captured the BC AAA senior girls soccer title in 2018, where she was teammates with the Clan's Danae Robillard. An honour roll student, Buono also spends time coaching young soccer players in her community. She will be pursuing a major in Criminology in the Fall.

Why SFU? "I chose SFU because it is a strong academic institution as well as a competitive school in the NCAA that is close to home."
