Joining SFU from North Vancouver is five-foot-five striker Teagan Mackay. She brings a long list of accomplishments with her from her high school and club soccer career, highlighted by the Female Player of the Year and Player of Distinction awards at Mountain United FC in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as earning her high school team's MVP honour in grades 10 and 11. Mackay has also been selected to play on Team BC on multiple occasions since 2014, including the Canada Games in 2017. "I wanted to stay close to home," Mackay explained when asked about her choice to come to SFU. "I wanted to be a part of a team that gets along and supports each other. I also believe in Coach Annie – I like her style of coaching." She will graduate this Spring from Argyle Secondary and plans to major in Health Science.
