Tanner Care promoted to head coach, strength and conditioning for SFU Athletics in August 2023. Care returns to SFU as the head strength and conditioning coach after serving as the director of performance for the Bandits. With extensive experience in collegiate, professional, and national-level sports, Tanner has nurtured numerous All-Americans, national champions, and Olympians across several sports. This diverse expertise uniquely positions him to enhance SFU's student-athlete experience and propel both athletes and programs to success.

Care was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Red Leafs the past two seasons and he previously was the head strength & conditioning coach for University of Ottawa (Rugby) and the assistant strength & conditioning coach for Football North Prep School. In addition to his experience in the collegiate setting, Tanner has also managed several athletes and teams privately that range from high school to the professional level across several sports.

Care is a registered strength and conditioning coach (RSCC) and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a recognized EXOS performance specialist Care attended the University of Florida and received a MS(c) in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology with a specialization in human performance.
