Biography
Victoria Seal – Mission, BC / Mission Secondary
Height: 5’4”
Club Team: Coast Wrestling
Abdou: “Seal is already a member of the Canadian U20 National team. She is the most decorated high school wrestler in the country and she is ready to make an impact in the university scene. She is also the sister of one of our leaders. We think that will make her transition even easier.”
Seal was named the Most Outstanding Female Wrestler at the 2019 BC High School Wrestling Provincial Championships, after capturing a fourth consecutive gold medal. She competed in the 57-kilogram category at the event and did not concede a single point throughout the entire tournament.
In international competitions with Canada, she earned bronze medals at the Cadet Pan Am Championships in both 2017 and 2018. Her older sister Alexia is a current member of the SFU team and earned All-American status at the WCWA Nationals in 2019. An honour roll student, she plans to major in communications.
Why SFU? “I chose SFU because of the quality of the wrestling program. I also value the quality of the athletes and recognize that, as training partners, they can help me become a better wrestler. I am looking forward to contributing positively to this awesome team.”
