Abdou: “We knew Sam well and have worked with him at our camp. He has all the tools that we look for in a recruit. He is dedicated, smart, hard working and tough. We are excited to have him on our team.”
Patton won a gold medal at the 2019 Alberta High School Wrestling Championships in the 65-kilogram category, a year after he was champion in the 59-kilogram. With the ROC Wrestling Club, he competed at the 2018 Alberta Open, where he placed first in the 60-kilogram category.
At SFU, Patton plans to study business with a planned career in accounting.
Why SFU? “Because it has both an excellent business program and wrestling team.”
