Clan fall flat against University of Alaska Anchorage

Box Score Anchorage, AK - The Simon Fraser University women's volleyball team lost in three sets to the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves Thursday evening.
Katie Forsyth (Delta, BC) led the Clan side in kills with seven on the night and Jessica Young (Vancouver, BC) and Amanda Renkema (Delta, BC) had five each, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Seawolves who are now 5-1 in conference play.

"We came out flat," said head coach Lisa Sulatycki.  "We played flat and we can't afford to do that against a team of this calibre".
The AAU team were led by Katelynn Zanders who registered 17 of their 47 team kills.

Defensively Alanna Chan (Port Moody, BC) led the Clan with 19 digs but the Clan was unable to put together enough plays to upset the Seawolves.
With the loss the SFU women drop to 0-7 in GNAC conference play and 2-11 on the season.

The Clan volleyball squad is back in action Saturday, October 6 against the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Fairbanks, AK.
